Hutchesons’ Grammar Secondary School sits in a leafy suburb in the Southside of Glasgow with nearby M77 and M8 motorway links and two railway lines within a ten minute walk.
Rail travel takes around ten minutes to Glasgow Central. The nearby Primary School is a ten minute walk from the Secondary School. The campus blends both historic and contemporary styles, combining stunning architecture and period features with modern conferencing and meeting facilities.
The Fotheringay Centre in the Southside of Glasgow is the prefect venue for couples who desire intimate weddings in a traditional church setting. Created with the restoration of a turn of the century church, The Fotheringay Centre offers unique opportunities for unforgettable events, bespoke receptions, services, weddings, christenings and graduations.
The beautiful red sandstone Fotheringay Centre, stands in the leafy suburb of Pollokshieds, just 15 minutes by car from Glasgow City Centre, and was originally home to the Pollokshields United Reform Church. Hutchesons’ purchased the church and following a refurbishment programme opened the Fotheringay Centre in 2004.
Our beautiful Auditorium can accommodate up to 200 seated guests for your wedding ceremony. There is also the adjacent Georgeson Room, which could be used for a small drinks reception. The Auditorium opens out onto a private garden to the front, where guests can mingle after the ceremony. A beautiful spot on a sunny afternoon before heading to your chosen Reception venue.
The Fotheringay Auditorium offers you a blank canvas for you to create your perfect wedding ceremony. Our neutral decor, with the traditional stained glass windows makes for an impressive back drop. You are free to decorate the hall to your own taste, for your special day.
The Fotheringay is also very close to Maxwell Park, the perfect place to have those memorable wedding photos taken.
The school has a flexible suite of modern meeting rooms and auditoriums suitable for conferences, seminars and training days and can cater for all sizes – from small groups to larger companies.
The school also offers state of the art sport facilities at the Beaton Road campus which include an International standard running track, flood lit hockey pitch and sector-leading strength and conditioning gym next door to a large sports hall which can accommodate seven badminton courts and another smaller hall.
