• The curriculum offers up to 8 subjects, more than many schools, ensuring impressive academic breadth.

Flexible and Personalised Choices

• Pupils have freer choice from S3, with only English and Mathematics remaining compulsory.

• Subjects like Economics, Business, Scottish Studies, certificated PE, and RMPS expand the range of options available.

Two-Year Higher Pathways (Bypass Model)

• In Modern Studies, History, and Geography, pupils begin Higher-level study in S4, easing pressure and enhancing success in S5.

• This model supports pupils aiming for five or six Highers, while also reducing stress during their first external exam diet.

• Pupils have full freedom of subject choice in S5 and S6, allowing for both breadth and specialisation. English is no longer compulsory in S5.

• Pupils can take two-year Higher courses, crash Highers, and Advanced Highers, tailoring their pace and depth of study to their strengths and goals.

• This is facilitated through the unique way in which we deliver a number of our Humanities subjects over two years in S4 and S5, taking pressure off pupils in individual subjects, allowing them to raise their aspirations and achieve across all subjects in S5.
