Arriving at Dounans Outdoor Centre, pupils were quick to settle into their dorms which would be home for the weekend. This trip was open to the S5 Rock Band and all pupils who play woodwind, brass, percussion, and string instruments, ranging from S2 – S6 pupils. The weekend comprised of full rehearsals and sectional rehearsals, all taken by our teachers and tutors from the school.
Although the weekend primarily focused on rehearsing repertoire for this year’s performances, a lot of fun was had with quizzes, ceilidh dancing, and even Mr Foden’s ultimate ball game made an appearance.
Music Teacher, Mrs Porter said:
“It was a fantastic weekend with lots of great music making across all the groups. There was laughter and enjoyment in the rehearsals and our pupils, once again have risen to the challenge, already creating magical moments in some of the pieces. As a department we are excited to start the year on such a positive note.”
Thank you to our Music Department for organising this fun and valuable weekend. It was a great opportunity to bring together pupils across various year groups to share in their enjoyment for music and start the new school year strong.
