The pupils chose the Scottish charity as their main school charity for the school session 2018-9 and held a large number of activities and events in order to raise the remarkable amount.
SCAA currently operates one helicopter and one rapid response vehicle – taking expert paramedic care to the scene of time-critical emergencies, whether it be on a road, in a field or at someone’s home. SCAA then transports patients to specialist hospitals to receive the most appropriate advanced care.
Working in partnership with the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS), SCAA is an integral part of Scotland’s frontline emergency response network, responding to trauma incidents and medical emergencies across the country, covering an area of more than 30,000 square miles.
Charity representative, Carol Anne MacMahon, said: “ We are absolutely delighted to have worked with Hutchesons’ this session and greatly appreciate all their fundraising efforts.”
Depute Rector for Ethos, Mrs Windows, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed working with SCAA and are delighted to have raised this sum. It is a credit to the charity efforts and support of the whole Hutchie community”.
Our pupils have raised the money in many ways including sponsored runs, charity concerts, Christmas Fairs, and a pupil rock night.
After much consideration, the Charity Committee has chosen ‘Give a Dog a Bone’ as our school charity for the 2019/2020 session. Give a Dog a Bone is a small, unique and award-winning charity that helps the over 60’s to afford a rescue pet companion – tackling loneliness in our ageing community as well as the rising number of animals experiencing homelessness and the Hutchie community have began fundraising this term.
Very well done to the Hutchie community for their wonderful efforts in raising money for a fantastic cause!
