An Audience with Liz Lochead

Our Higher English pupils were treated to an audience with former Scottish Makar, Liz Lochhead on Thursday 13th December.

She joined us to read through some of her best loved poems and to give us a flavour of what life is like for such a successful and well-loved poet. Liz was full of energy and enthusiasm and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed their time spent with her.

Thanks must go to Pragna Challapalli and Alex Hyman (S5) for introducing Liz and delivering the vote of thanks and to Aubrey McCance (S3) for his beautiful rendition of ‘How I’ll Decorate my Tree’. We are indebted to Liz for giving up her valuable time to join us and hope to welcome her back to Hutchie again.
