Hutchesons’ owes much of its continuing success to the strength of its vast community of alumni – former pupils for whom Hutchie still has a place in their hearts and friends, parents and supporters who contribute so much to the life of the School.

In addition, we support a large number of reunions each year and are delighted to help former pupils keep in touch with each other.

Strong Alumni Community

Our Development Office works hard to maintain close links with former pupils and we place great value on our alumni community. On their last day of S6 the pupils officially leave the school only to return moments later as Former Pupils. They are also invited back to a Christmas Catch-up reunion to share their experience of their first semester at university or talk about their travels or job.

Alumni Seminars & Hubs

Former pupils often return to the School to pass on their life experiences gained since leaving Hutchesons’ to current pupils.

Many have given enlightening and engaging presentations on our flagship Talking Points programme – a series of lectures delivered throughout the academic year to S6 pupils. Others have hosted a Hutchie Hub seminar – a talk and Q&A session on a particular theme which is open to all pupils, staff, parents and invited guests.

Alumni Reunions

Every year the school hosts a number of class reunions which give former pupils a chance to return and see their school, any changes since their day, meet former teachers and catch up with former class mates.

We also hold regular international reunions and are always keen to hear from pupils who live further afield and would like to organise a reunion. Reunions are typically held by class year, however this is not a strict rule and we would be happy to discuss any other ideas you may have.

Please contact our Alumni Officer on 0141 433 4474, or by email at alumni@hutchesons.org, who will do everything they can to assist you with your event, whether it be held in school or elsewhere.
